Four in a Bed is a popular British reality competition in which four sets of B&B and hotel owners road-test each other’s establishments in the quest to be named the best value for money.
Across the week of filming, each pair takes a turn to host, with their rivals paying what they feel the stay is truly worth. Honest feedback, mixed opinions, and the occasional clash make for gripping viewing, all culminating in the final reveal where the week’s winner is crowned.
In 2025, Hotel Penzance Harbourview was lucky enough to be chosen to take part in the Channel 4 series, with Hotel Penzance Collection, group manager, Louise Shaw taking part in the filming which will be shown on Monday 23 February 2026.

Comprising of a luxury double or twin bed. Although these rooms have no sea view, they are offset by the space and serenity on offer. Light floods through the large windows and the fresh sea breeze can be welcomed in.
Our Cosy Double rooms are situated on the first and second floor, offering sea views across Mount's Bay. They comprise of a small double bed, en-suite bath/shower room and large window to welcome in the fresh sea air. The perfect room for those travelling solo or as part of a group. Compact and bijoux but still equipped with all the luxuries. Although single, it is not standard, we have 3 single room types to choose from. We appreciate how important a good night’s rest is, so our singles are a little larger than the norm.
Jean DThis is a lovely hotel in all sense of the word. From the inviting reception to the different lounges to the lovely light dining room, all is quality and spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable and then there is the view. Overlooking the harbour and out to sea, you can sit on the terrace and watch boats coming and going. The hotel has its own swimming pool. The food was very good, we were not rushed at dinner. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.
Foxtrot123The new owners have made this a must visit for anyone visiting Penzance and the surrounding area. The train station is just a few minutes away and that is adjacent to the stops for all the buses serving this part of Cornwall. Do choose a sea view room, you will not be disappointed. Breakfast is individually cooked to a very high standard .
A perfect place for a short stay or as long as you like.
Katie MThis hotel is extremely popular but fortunately for me there was a last minute one night stay that became available the morning before, which meant that I could finally try a stay here.
After the booking, reception very quickly called to clarify the type of room that I was allocated and that it did not have a balcony etc. On arrival the reception lady was absolutely lovely, proudly showing me the restaurant and my room and also explaining the covid procedures. Immediately I felt relaxed and this was enhanced further when I went into my room and saw the wonderful bed and the most charming views across the streets and the harbour.
Dinner was excellent value and the staff very well trained with customer service. The whole pace here is relaxed but it’s upscale. Thank you for a wonderful stay in room 1 and I hope to return soon.
V & K CFrom the initial contact with the hotel to the moment we left, we could not fault this small friendly hotel, there was nothing at all we could fault - we stay in a lot of hotels, some are very expensive and the Hotel Penzance for our stay was superb. So many 'little' details had been refined to work like a Swiss clock and normally this is only achievable if all the staff are happy and this is certainly what we found.
Mandy SAlthough only a short overnight stay the hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful and pleasant.
LaurenIt was a lovely experience, we enjoyed our stay here everything was clean and tidy, food was lovely, staff were great we will stay again if we are ever in the area!
Sally GWe had a lovely break and would certainly come back again. Best Hotel we have stayed in for a long time.
Sharon EWhat a local small English hotel very welcoming and has an excellent standard of rooms and food.
